Art Direction

Over the years I’ve worked in an Art Director/Producer capacity on a variety of shoots, from promo for events to styled product shoots. As an Art Director, I take a brief and assemble a moodboard + concept. Once the client has approved the moodboard + concept, I recruit a team of photographers, videographers and stylists to create the set and execute the concept. I love this role because I get to help shape and execute a broad creative vision, while working with incredible artists to achieve a fun and engaging outcome.

Bella* Christmas

This shoot was for a Christmas range of bella* cards. I put this together in my backyard, using the washing line to hang a sheet off of and the afternoon sun to light the products. The brief was “fun and fresh Australian Christmas”, and I wanted it to feel festive without being tacky.

‘One Above All’ Merch

This shoot was for a label called “ONE ABOVE ALL”. We utilised a hard flash, a silver tinsel backdrop and a grey shipping container for an edgy and urban look that still felt fun.

CY CAMP

This project was to promote CY Camp/Riot. We used an empty shed on a friend’s farm, a bunch of sunstrip lights and a smoke machine to make a grungy and moody, but bright, backdrop for the hip hop dance crew we worked with from Sole. Neon effects were drawn in for later social media and print materials.

SWIPE RIGHT

Swipe Right was a relationships panel series, aimed at young people aged 13-18. We used retro objects, such as a rotary phone or old toy remote, paired with bright neon backdrops (thankyou, spot lights and coloured gels) and a solid pink colour to show that old ideas still have a place in modern relationships.

CY FORMAL

This shoot was to promote an end of year dress up event, and was modelled after the yearly Vanity Fair x Oscars spread. We grouped like colours in the smaller portrait groups, and aimed to utilise levels and perspective when arranging the models. We paired it with type set in Didot, the classic fashion font, for later promotional material.
